Depending on the injury site, you may need to undress to allow us to examine the area fully and carry out a thorough examination. This may also include examining the joint above and below the area. For this reason, please attend the appointment wearing suitable clothing. We advise wearing well-fitting underwear or bring a pair of shorts. In order for the therapist to assess and treat your condition, it is likely that they will need to have close contact with you. It is essential that you discuss any issues with the therapist if you are uncomfortable with the assessment or treatment. We operate in a professional manner and will always respect your wishes – you are welcome to be accompanied by a family member or friend to act as a chaperone. If the appointment is for a child under 16 a parent or guardian must accompany them. Each subsequent treatment session lasts 30 minutes. We will offer you appointment times to fit in with your schedule.
Referrals:- You may be referred to us for treatment by your G.P. or specialist, verbally or by formal letter. Or you can self-refer to us without seeing a doctor. If you have been referred by letter, we will always send a discharge report back to the referring doctor at the end of your course of treatment. You may request a copy of this report. We may need to write to your doctor to request an x-ray, scan, blood test, other investigation or referral to a specialist. We always ask for your consent to communicate with your G.P or specialist.
